Market Update: The tech migration to Colorado | 09.11.18

There is lots of conjecture about companies that may be moving offices or headquarters to Colorado and the Denver area. The Denver Channel wrote an article about tech companies in the Denver area.

Here are four facts about Denver-area tech companies that you can memorize to sound smart at parties:

  1. The tech boom is bringing big name companies, as well as startups to Colorado.

  2. In May, Amazon held a grand opening: they opened a 1000-job fulfillment center in Aurora and are opening another in Thornton this year.

  3. In May, Microsoft held a grand opening event. That company has opened a campus in the Denver Technology Center.

  4. Colorado Office of Economic Development says that a new startup is born in the state every 72 hours.

What does this have to do with our housing market? The simple answer is this intentional investment in locating to, and in, the Denver area by both large and small companies creates economic stability which, in turn, drives our housing market stability and growth, and also makes us resistant to recession.
