Neighborhood Hot Spot: The Brown Palace

Our city hosts an eclectic variety of neighborhoods, each with their own charm and unique restaurants, shops, cafes, breweries and just about everything in between!  This week’s Dwell Denver Neighborhood Hot Spot is the Brown Palace in the Downtown Denver neighborhood. Built in 1892, it’s one of the most architecturally-significant (and beautiful) hotels in the US, and it’s the second-longest-operating hotel in Denver.

Let us tell you a little more about why we love it here!

Here’s what we love about the Brown Palace. It’s like a trip back through time:

  1. Sit in the Atrium for traditional British High Tea: Put on your fancy clothes and get ready for delicious scones, double-clotted cream, finger sandwiches, and divine pastries. Oh, and of course it comes with a delicious tea of your choice. Always make a reservation to make sure you’ll actually get in. And plan on reserving several weeks in advance of your intended date during the holiday season. The holiday decor, by the way, is…well…spectacular.

  2. Stay here: There are 241 accommodations with twice-daily maid service, luxurious terry robes, and even artesian water from their own well. It’ll make you feel like one of the wealthiest citizens of the late 1800s, or today for that matter.

  3. Go to the spa: Yes, we’re using that as a verb. The Brown Palace has one of the top luxury spas in Denver. The spa offers massages, facials, hair, nails, and combination packages. Try a Champagne Brunch followed by a Swedish Massage, then top it all off with High Tea. This one-of-a-kind luxury boutique hotel gives you lots of options to create your own day and night of complete rejuvenation.

When you’re out and about in the Downtown Denver neighborhood, stop by and check them out!
