Sustainable Living: Saging for energy clearing AND for snacking
Perhaps you’ve heard of burning dried sage, or smudge sticks, as a means of clearing negativity out of a space and inviting beneficial energies?
Today’s Dwell Denver Public Service Announcement contains a helpful hint for homeowners: edible sage chips instead of smudge sticks. We, here at Dwell Denver Real Estate believe in the practical, as well as the ethereal, and found this recipe as a way to address both.
Simply heat ½ inch of olive oil (not extra virgin- it’s not made for high heat) in a small saucepan on medium high.
Then drop fresh sage leaves into hot oil until ever-so-slightly browned (watch them carefully so they don’t burn. But if you do burn a batch, well hey, that’s just a little extra positive energetic boost). Remove with a slotted spoon and cool on a paper towel. It’s nice to add a sprinkle of salt.
And I’d suggest pink Himalayan sea salt as an added way to boost energetic cleansing, which is thought to improve the mineral status of the body and help balance pH.
So the next time you need to cook and cleanse, take a crack at these yummy sage chips. It’ll help keep your blessings abundant and your epicurean spirits high.
Please note, no birds were killed with any stones.
