When people are ready to take the leap into homeownership, their most pressing questions usually revolve around the money part. Not only do they fret about what they can afford, but the wonder how the lending process even works:

Unless you’re coming to closing with a large check or a suitcase full of money, we’ve got to get a lender involved.
We don’t require you to have a pre-approval letter before jumping in the car to look at houses…necessarily. During our discovery meeting the first time we connect—we will ask you if you’ve spoken with a lender. If you haven’t, we’ll recommend you do and give you a couple of good referrals.
Choosing a good lender as early in the process as possible is just as important as choosing Dwell to help you as early as possible. There’s nothing worse than getting out to look at houses without a solid budget. What if you find a house you absolutely love but can’t afford? What if we’re showing you houses you detest when you could actually afford a house that is more in line with what you want? Having a solid budget is key, and your lender will help us determine that amount.
We take market education very seriously around here. When we start the buying process, we’ll get a lender looped in first. Then we’ll get you out there to see homes that will work for you in the price range you feel comfortable with.
