F.U.Q: What is the Difference Between a REALTOR® and a Real Estate Agent?

DWELL DENVER F.U.Q. (Frequently UNASKED Questions)

Here at Dwell Denver Real Estate, we want to help you understand to process of buying and selling a home so you can make the most informed decisions possible. There are so many unasked questions we have come across that we dedicated an entire category to these Frequently Unasked Questions or F.U.Q.’s!

Today’s Frequently Unasked Questions looks at a common confusion in real estate lingo, the difference between a REALTOR® and a real estate agent.

Here are the big differences:

1) All Realtors® are real estate agents but not all real estate agents are Realtors®.

2) Realtors® are members of the National Association of Realtors® and are held to higher education and ethical standards than real estate agents.

3) Real estate agents have merely met the education requirements for licensure.

There is no “a” in the middle of the word when you’re pronouncing Realtor®…it’s just Real-tor.

At Dwell Denver, we make real estate really simple so you'll feel confident and in control every step of the way.
